What is a “pinch flat”?

posted Jan 10, 2011, 1:19 PM by Michael Gardner

A pinch flat (also called "snakebite") occurs when you abruptly hit something like a pot hole and your inner tube works it’s way between the tire and the rim causing it to be pinched and then pop. A pinch flat can also be caused by inadequate tire pressure.
